Stroud Township Supervisor Jennifer Shukaitis is the Granddaughter of former Monroe County Commissioner Nancy Michael Shukaitis and walks in her path of leadership, environmental advocacy and community service.
A graduate of East Stroudsburg High School, Shukaitis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from East Stroudsburg University and a Master’s Degree in Anatomy and Neurobiology from Colorado State University. Shukaitis worked as a general manager in the retail tourism industry for 16 years and currently works as a medical coding specialist for Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Shukaitis serves on the boards of the Brodhead Watershed Association, Stroud Regional Open Space and Recreation Commission, and the Act 137 Monroe County Housing Authority Board. Shukaitis is Vice Chair of the Monroe County Democratic Committee and Vice President of the Monroe County Democratic Honorary Society. She was honored in 2021 by the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women as an Outstanding Elected Democratic Woman.
Shukaitis also serves about 20,000 residents as Vice Chairwoman and Assistant Secretary of the Stroud Township Board of Supervisors. She is passionate about working toward a future with opportunities for everyone including sustainable jobs, affordable living and healthy lifestyles in the natural beauty of the Pocono Mountains. Her primary focus in the Pennsylvania Senate will be on preserving and expanding voter rights, school tax reform, healthcare access, economic development, securing infrastructure, and environmental preservation.
